Whole Wikipedia In Your PC

WIKIPEDIA IS NOW OFFERING WHOLE IT'S DATABASE FOR PUBLIC USE ANYBODY CAN DOWNLOAD IT http:// download.wikimedia.org There are several versions available, ranging from every revision of every article with full history and lots of metadata, to simply the current revision of content pages only. The complete database dump with every revision is probably not what you want, and is over 600 gigabytes. What you are most likely looking for is the current revision of each content page, including articles, templates, project pages, and image descriptions. This is a 4 gigabyte compressed download, so make sure that you have around 20 gigabytes of free space before decompressing it. This download can be found at: Note that all the downloads are in XML format rather than the HTML format you normally see. It should still be fairly readable, and it can be imported into a MediaWiki installation on your computer if you have one. (See for information on how to install MediaWiki.) Also, the database dumps take a very long time to produce, so they're almost always pretty outdated. Currently, the most recent one is about two months old.
