iBall Andi 4.5z dual-core Android 4.2 smartphone launched at Rs. 7,499

iBall has introduced a new budget smartphone in India, called the Andi 4.5z, at Rs. 7,499. Though, the company notes that Rs. 7,499 is the best buy price, while the MRP of the smartphone is Rs. 8,299.

The iBall Andi 4.5zwill be available in two colours - Classy Black and Serene White. The smartphone is powered by 1.3GHz dual-core Cortex A7 processor (unspecified chipset) along with 512MB of RAM. It features a 4.5-inch qHD (540x960) IPS display. There is an 8-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and also houses a VGA front-facing camera. The smartphone runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box.

The Andi 4.5z from iBall is a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone with dual standby. There is 4GB of inbuilt storage onboard, which is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It also packs a 1700mAh battery and includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS and 3G connectivity options.

Commenting on the launch, Sandeep Parasrampuria, iBall Director, "Andi 4.5z is truly made for today's generation who wants the best of both the worlds - be it looks or performance. It is surely going to capture hearts with its captivating looks and fast performance."

iBall has been expanding its Andi range of smartphones aggressively and the product line boasts of about 13 products that include, Andi 4.7G Cobalt, Andi 4.5d Quadro, Andi 5Li, Andi 5L, Andi 4.5h, Andi 3.5KKe, Andi 3.5r, Andi 5h Quadroand the Andi 4Di, among others.

Recently, iBall unveiledthe Andi 4Di+which is the successor to the iBall Andi 4Di for Rs. 6,399. The iBall Andi 4Di+ comes with a 4-inch WVGA (480x800) IPS display. It is powered by dual-core 1.3GHz Cortex A7 processor (unspecified chipset) along with 512MB of RAM. It sports a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and also includes a VGA front-facing camera. It bears 4GB of inbuilt storage, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The iBall Andi 4Di+ runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and support dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) with dual standby. It includes a 1700mAh battery and includes connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPRS, GPS/ AGPS and 3G.

Samsung Galaxy S5




* Samsung's next big thing - the Galaxy S5- is said to arrive with 4GB RAM

under the hood. South Korean website DT reports that Samsung's next-flagship handset

may pack 4GB of RAM and a 64-bit Exynos 6 processor. As per rumors, the South Korean

giant is expected to announce the device early next year.

* Samsung is already selling the Galaxy S4 in the market.

Though the phone got bumper opening, but Samsung is not impressed with the response.

With Apple already launched its iPhone 5S with TouchID fingerprint scanner,

and more importantly the phone has 64-bit PC architecture;

Samsung may bring 64-bit processor supported handset in the coming months.

* These days Samsung is busy churning handsets with advance RAM.

For instance, the Galaxy Note 3 is the only Android powered phone having 3GB of RAM.

It is not clear whether Samsung would like to pack a 64-bit Exynos 6 processor

or use next-gen Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset to power Galaxy S5.

* Recently, according to ET news, Samsung has been forced to drop Optical

Image Stabilization (OIS) from the Galaxy S5. The reason for dropping OIS is not clear

at the moment. LG, Samsung's arch rival - is already promoting its flagship handset as

the best portable camera in your handset. The LG G2's camera uses Optical Image Stabilization

(OIS) feature. Under any circumstances, Samsung need to bring this feature to stay competitive.

Moreover, the Galaxy S5 would have a 16-megapixel camera sensor.
^ Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S5 could have an eye-scanning feature.

The said feature might be used to unlock the device. Moreover, Samsung is looking to

use metal chassis to make the Galaxy S5 look more appealing.
^ The Samsung Galaxy S5 is said to be announced in the month of
January /February 2014. The device is expected to sport a 5.5-inch Full HD display,
64-bit processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB/128GB of ROM ( expandable memory), 4G LTE-A,
waterproof and dust-resistant, Android 4.4 Kitkat, 16MP rear facing camera with
OIS and a 3000mAh battery inside.

Idea Ultra smartphone with 5- inch display and quad-core processor launched for Rs 10,500


Idea Cellular has launched the Ultra smartphone, which is the carrier's first smartphone with a 5-inch display. The Ultra smartphone is compatible with 3G and dual-SIM and is available across all its 3G circles for Rs 10,500. The company is also offering an additional benefit to those users who chose to buy this phone with a special 3G data pack. With this pack costing from Rs 259 to Rs 261 as per the circle, subscribers will get 3GB of free 3G data and free Idea TV subscription for 3 months from the date of activation.

On the features front, the phone comes with a 5-inch IPS (480x854 pixels) display. It runs on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and is equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589M processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory out of which only 2GB is available to users. The phone comes with an 8-megapixel rear camera with flash and offers burst mode to take 90 continuous shots on a single click. It also features a VGA front-facing camera.

On the connectivity front, the Idea Ultra phone comes with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and 3G. Other features include sensors like proximity sensor, light sensor and G-sensor, and a 2000mAh battery. The phone is priced at Rs 10,500 and is available in glossy white color.

Xolo Q800 X-Edition with quad-core processor

Xolo launched the Q800 as the company's first quad-core smartphone back in March, now the Xolo Q800 X-Editionis available from online retailer Flipkart. It has similar specifications as the Q800 including a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touchscreen IPS display. This one is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU, unlike the Q800 that was powered by a MediaTek MT6589M chip. Xolo had be launching phones different variant of the same models in the recent period including the Q700i, A500L and A500S IPS.

It runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean), comes with a 8-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor, 1080p HD video recordingand a 1-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby similar to most of the Xolo smartphones.
